Can ugly buildings be the perfect backdrop?
I am a huge fan of making spaces that might not be the most interesting or pretty to look at as a backdrop in my photography. I had driven by this building hundreds of times and something about it was calling to me, especially with the big weeds growing up the white wall. I shot this set during summer 2020 just when blue hour was beginning and I still love how these photos turned out. So to answer the question “can ugly buildings be the perfect backdrop?” The answer is yes! Don’t limit your creativity to what you think is going to look perfect on the gram, you never know how amazing an “ugly” place will light up during golden hour or look soft and dreamy during blue hour. Explore places that you might overlook!
