Quarantine Birthday
Can I just start by saying 2020 is the year I was finally getting my life together! I was doing personal training twice a week, cardio at the gym with my sister, going back to school, taking photography more seriously than ever before, and I had the cutest little Portland trip planned for my 29th birthday. Plans had to be changed, my lifestyle had to shift. I don’t know anyone who expected COVID-19 or the impact it would have on the world. I’ve been trying very hard to be productive and continue to reach my personal goals because the older I get the more I realized I thrive when I have a routine and things to look forward to. I’m still doing my personal training, it just happens to be in the comfort of my living room. I’m lucky enough that my non-photography job is considered essential and I happen to work alongside family so I still get to see my loved ones. I’m about to start my 2nd quarter of school online and photography has become even more of a creative outlet for me in this uncertain time. I thought it would be fun to put some makeup on and stage a little birthday photoshoot. It felt so good to take the camera out (to my driveway haha) and get some use of my brand-new tripod. I might have not had the birthday I was planning for, but it was filled with so much love. I was overwhelmed with calls and texts and was spoiled with gifts and brownies by friends and family. I feel lucky to experience so much joy at a time when happiness can feel hard to come by. My 29th year might have started during a pandemic, but I am excited to see what the rest of my year has in store for me! I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy and finding joy in the little moments.
