San Juan Island
In August I packed a small bag and headed to San Juan Island for a little weekend camping trip. The island was full of life, colorful sunsets and time slowed down for a brief moment which is exactly what I was in need of. I’ve been to San Juan once before, but I have never explored all it had to offer and was excited to finally have the chance. We walked along its beaches, taking in the ocean view from every angle. Some parts felt like scenes right out of Pride and Prejudice. We camped on a horse farm the first night and camped right near the ocean the second. Nothing compares to laying underneath the stars and letting the waves lull you to sleep. One of my favorite things we did was visit the Afterglow Vista. My mom read about this strange mausoleum that was only a walk into the woods so of course, we had to go. It was eerie and beautiful. Full of history and references to the Masonic Order, one wonders what secrets it was hiding.
