Hay Queen

This past July I got to make all of my hay bale dreams come true with this super fun photoshoot featuring my little sister Mikaela! We were lucky enough to have a mutual friend loan us her field for an hour while we ran around in golden light and waited for the moon to come out. I love working with my sister because she is always willing to try my crazy ideas (like balancing on a hay bale) and has been one of my biggest photography supporters since day one. While I was editing these pictures I realized that this shoot gave me huge Dorothy from Wizard of Oz vibes and I’m not mad about it. Even the way I edited the pictures starting with black and white and then leading into vibrant colors reminds me of the movie, which happens to be a favorite of mine. This wasn’t even the direction I was trying to go with, but I love our accidental PNW twist on a classic.
